For a room, a mirror, like a great pair of diamond studded earrings, is a must have accessory.
Mirrors reflect light and open up a wall and ultimately, the whole room. Here are a few that I love.

This mirror is reflecting the photos leading up to the second level of the home. It is a very old mirror, and although I love it as it is, I keep thinking about painting it white or maybe a pale yellow, what do you think? When I was a consultant for Southern living at home, so many customers would say they were afraid to hang a mirror because it is a big accessory to get up on a wall and then if you don't like it, you can't move it easily. Maybe try propping one up on a shelf, or lean it on the floor or on a table top, just make sure it reflects something you want to see in the room.
