Monday, November 26,2012 Tween Bedroom Redo for Angelina

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Over the past few months I have been helping a friend redecorate her daughter's bedroom. The adorable 6th grader wanted a more "teen" look for her space, and she had a few ideas for the color and style for her new room. I wanted to share with you the before and after photos. We redecorated the space without a specific budget in mind, but it was all accomplished using some of the items already in the room, and adding touches that were inexpensive yet added a little "wow" factor here and there.
BEFORE:
The room had pretty neutral furnishings: bed, nightstand, and dresser..Thr walls were pink and the carpeting was a plum color.

The new bedding

The room before had Purple carpeting, windows with just blinds.the room has two nice windows to

let in the sunlight.

We added sheer panels to cover the windows alittle more than just blinds, but still lets in the light. The curtain rods have pretty crystal finials, from Bed Bath and Beyond.

My friend found this great comforter, love the black and white against the blue walls.

This is the hardwood floor sample.

Here is a simple wood shelf to hold the cable box for Angelina's tv

This was an unfinished vanity and stool, that belonged to Angelina's mom when she was a youg girl. I love adding pieces like this with history into a room. Angelina wanted cheetah print so we used a pillowcase from pbteen to

redo the cushion on the stool. A local artist, Susan Esposito, painted the set a great pink color that was found in the fabric. The zebra boxes sitting on the floor, under the window, house Angelina's
stuffed animal collection. The boxes are from HomeGoods.

We found this photo holder in Target. It is a fishing wire with clips for the photos and on either end are white ceramic flowers. Angelina can personalize this space with new photos every now and then. Susan Espisito also painted an "a" on top of this for some more personalization.

A chandelier wall decal hangs over the bed. The lamp base matches great with the walls, for another pop of the color Angelina loves.
It was a pleas you're working with Angrlins and she loves how her room was transformed.
Thank you so much to Ildiko and Angelina for letting me be a part of this project. It was so much fun.
